April 2021

All the latest Workplace product announcements and feature releases.

This month, we're excited to share highly anticipated updates to some of our most popular features. Notes have been given a complete refresh, live video now allows for sharing both a screen and the presenter's video, and Knowledge Library now offers a mobile site and the ability to reorder subcategories. And that's not all. Read on for more Workplace product updates and learning materials.

Collaborate on documents in Workplace with the new Notes

Collaborate on documents in Workplace with the new Notes

Create and share detailed documents directly within Workplace – including monthly newsletters, meeting notes or project status reports. The new Notes allows you to collaborate with everyone in your company with co-editing, and to embed videos, images and tables. You can find an interactive demo of Notes and other Workplace post functionality in the self-paced courseYour posting arsenal.

More flexible live video screen sharing

More flexible live video screen sharing

Share both your screen and camera at the same time when broadcasting with others. By showing the presenter alongside the content being shared, viewers can now easily track who's presenting for increased engagement during the live broadcast. Learn more about live video in the Live video resource hub.

New Knowledge Library APIs

New Knowledge Library APIs

With new updates to Knowledge Library APIs, you can now surface content from other platforms (such as an existing intranet) in Knowledge Library. This allows you to easily migrate content to Knowledge Library and ensures that your employees can engage with existing resources straight from Workplace. Knowledge Library APIs will now also allow you to set the right permissions for your content, manage the home page quick links and understand how resources are received with the ability to read user reactions, comments and impressions. Take a look at the developer site for more details on how to build with Knowledge Library API.

Reorder subcategories in Knowledge Library

Reorder subcategories in Knowledge Library

Admins can now easily reorder subcategories within a Knowledge Library category to keep content organised and easy to find. Learn how in the Workplace Help Centre.

Access Knowledge Library on the go

Access Knowledge Library on the go

We want to make it easy for anyone to stay informed even if they don't have the space on their mobile device for another app. That's why we've made Knowledge Library available to access from the Workplace mobile site, giving you a mobile optimised experience, even if you don't have the Workplace app.

More flexible video rights management

More flexible video rights management

Last year, we announced a feature to protect your internal videos shared on Workplace by restricting downloads. Now, we're updating this feature to give admins the ability to determine a set of people who are able to download videos while continuing to restrict others from downloading and distributing videos outside of Workplace. This ensures that certain employees who need to download video content for their role are able to do so. You can learn more about video rights management and how to enable it for your community by visiting our Help Centre.
