Changes to AD Sync software
On 12 August 2020, we are releasing the new and final version of the AD Sync support software. This update addresses several security considerations surfaced previously, including managed service account support, certificate pinning and several others.
Following the industry trend of migration towards cloud IdP solutions, we have decided to sunset the AD Sync solution on 12 August 2021, after which our team will no longer provide support or software updates. As of today, you will no longer be able to deploy the AD Sync solution to new Workplaces. Due to security reasons, we will sunset the current (v15) and all previous versions of the AD Sync support software on 1 February 2021.
We encourage all our customers to migrate to a cloud IdP solution. Moving to a cloud solution should be a seamless experience that is virtually unnoticeable by your community and comes with the added benefits detailed below. We encourage you to visit our Integration Directory for some of the IdP solutions that we partner with. We will be providing the support you need to ensure that your migration experience is as smooth as possible.

Which cloud IdP solutions does Workplace integrate with?
Workplace integrates many IdP solutions, including Microsoft Azure AD, Okta, Harbor, G Suite, OneLogin and Connect by Azuronaut. We encourage you to visit our Integration Directory for some of the IdP solutions that we partner with. Once deprecated on 12 August 2021, AD Sync will cease to operate and will no longer be able to manage your user accounts on Workplace.
