Workplace integrates with business tools that your company already uses, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, for a secure and productive way of sharing knowledge, collaborating and building community. In addition to simplifying your business communications, Workplace inspires all levels of your organisation to embrace digital and mobile for work, while adopting a culture of speed and transparency.

Workplace has 7 million paid users around the globe spanning retail, technology, telecommunications, financial services, media, entertainment, hospitality, food and drink, transport, property, utilities, delivery and government.

No. You don't need a personal Facebook account to sign up for Workplace. There are separate websites and apps for both.

No. Employers are not able to access employees' personal Facebook accounts.

The company owns the information and data which employees create in Workplace. Meta acts as the data processor.

After an employee leaves, the admin will still have access to their Workplace profile.

You can delete or deactivate your account at any time. However, your organisation will have continued access to your Workplace profile. For more help, visit our Help Centre.

Workplace uses world-class infrastructure to keep your data safe.

Workplace acts as your organisation's data processor, while your organisation remains in control of your company data. Workplace Online Terms contain the relevant data processing terms to help customers comply with GDPR, in particular, the terms in the Data Processing Addendum.

Workplace and Facebook accounts are kept separate, with separate profiles and login credentials for each account. Content is never shared between your Workplace and personal Facebook account.

On Workplace, your organisation owns and administers the account data – you can modify, delete or export it at any time. Our industry standard APIs allow for real-time activity monitoring and content exports. If you would like to use third-party tools for eDiscovery and compliance, we provide integrations with several industry-leading providers.

Workplace is certified for the highest security standards and, because it's from Meta, it benefits from world-class security, infrastructure and features designed to keep people and companies safe.

Workplace is hosted on Meta's infrastructure and is protected by a combination of advanced security systems, world-renowned security teams, firm security policies and processes focused on customer privacy and safety. Physical access to our data centres is restricted to authorised individuals only, and we own or directly lease all of our facilities, so we have end-to-end control over the grounds, buildings, servers, operations and maintenance of each centre.

Admins can leverage our Security Centre to monitor unusual security events and view a company security health score. They can also use our APIs or partner with a service provider for policy enforcement and to receive security alerts.

ISO 27001

This certification demonstrates security best practice and provides an independent validation of the design and operational effectiveness of our security management programme and information security management system.

ISO 27018

This certification covers the control objectives, controls and guidelines for implementing measures to protect personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with the privacy principles in ISO/IEC 29100 for the Workplace from Meta service and all related supporting technology.

SOC 2 is an extensive independent audit of how we host and operate Workplace from Meta, which is performed annually by an independent third-party auditor and covers the 12-month period from the previous calendar year. The assessment covers everything, from how we secure and protect the application and our data centres, to how we verify the identity and background of our employees. This is available upon request, subject to an NDA.


SOC 3 is a report that provides a summary of the SOC 2 report.

The NCC is the result of the source code review and penetration test done by one of the world's top security consultancies, NCC Group.

Workplace Advanced customers have access to one-to-one email support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The support team has a 24-hour initial response time SLA. Workplace Enterprise customers have access to one-to-one email support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The support team has 4-hour initial support response time SLA, and offers priority support resolution.
