Streamlined communications help improve efficiency and the bottom line

Memorial Health System is a U.S. nonprofit organization with inpatient and outpatient services. Putting employee and patient experience first, Memorial Health System has earned some of the highest patient and employee satisfaction ratings in the nation.

However, traditional tools and processes were creating roadblocks.

Memorial Health System turned to Workplace in June 2018 to combat email fatigue, redundant internal communications and a disconnected workforce. Today, over 96% of the organization's 7,000-strong workforce have joined the team on Workplace.

"As a leader, the benefits of having your team connect in a cohesive way will increase overall productivity and employee satisfaction. What management doesn't want that for their team? From a business perspective, that kind of activity has a very positive impact on the bottom line."

$340K annual savings by hosting CONNECT sessions

Twice a year, Memorial Health System used to host a series of CONNECT sessions to give all staff the latest industry updates. The content of these sessions is now shared via Workplace through rich media posts in company-wide groups and has saved the company $340,000 in annual event production costs.

High praise from surveyors on 2018 Joint Commission Survey

The Joint Commission Survey is the largest independent accreditation in US healthcare. The survey is run every three years, and involves an internal audit of every department of a healthcare provider to ensure it meets the highest standards of patient care. MHS created a group to manage the 2018 Joint Commission Survey, where stakeholders from every department were able to provide rapid response to surveyor inquiries, upload policy documents, and share information for the survey. The surveyors commended the efficiency that Workplace provided the Survey Command Center.

Gaining an hour each week by hosting team meetings on Workplace

Memorial Health System's Marketing and Communications team has a huddle twice a week. These team huddles used to happen face-to-face, which meant that people who were out of the office missed the meeting and fell behind. The team decided to move one of the weekly huddles to a Workplace group. This now ensures 100 percent attendance, allows people to get feedback faster, and gives everyone an hour of their time back each week.

For one employee in the team, being able to join the biweekly meetings on Workplace meant being able to keep her job when she moved interstate.
